COMPANY HISTORY
|
|
| Delta
Cooling Towers, Inc. was founded to manufacture
and market the initial concept of non-corrosive
Polyethylene cooling tower, and sold its first units
in June, 1971. This initial Pioneer®
forced draft cooling tower line (still manufactured
today) are factory assembled single modules from
10 through 100 tons of cooling capacity. Delta still
hears from customers who bought the first units
in the early 1970's who attest that the plastic
cooling tower looks the same now as when they purchased
it 30 years ago. |
| Throughout
the 1970's and early 1980's Delta was owned by a
couple financially strong conglomerates who invested
a lot of capital into the development of Delta's
proprietary plastic molding processes to make one-piece
seamless plastic cooling tower shells. This was
early recognition of the significant value to the
end-user of a seamless plastic cooling tower over
traditional thin sheet metal towers. These investments
led to the 1980 introduction of Delta's PARAGON®
induced draft cooling tower line that is also factory
assembled in single modules, from 100 to 250 tons
cooling capacity. |
| In
1981 Delta's engineer's developed equipment to serve
an emerging environmental remediation need - removing
volatile organic compounds (VOCs) from contaminated
water. This utilized the core mass transfer technology
from cooling towers to serve another market. Delta
entered the air stripper market and currently markets
a standard line of Vanguard®
Air Strippers from 1' through 5' diameter. Custom
system designs have been provided up to 15' diameter
in various materials of construction. |
| In
1998 Delta's introduced the PREMIER™
low profile cooling tower line which is also a factory
assembled, seamless cooling tower in single module
capacities from 250 to 500 cooling tons. To accomplish
this product extension Delta once again upgraded
its plastic molding technology to make this patented
product. The investment here was made by Delta's
current private owners who recognize the further
benefits to end-users of plastic towers in larger
sizes. |
| In
2002, Delta has introduced the TM
Series™ cooling tower
line, which is a modular tower with capacities from
250 to 2000 cooling tons. This tower will serve
a wide range of HVAC, Process Industry and Power
Generation applications. This design continues Delta's
seamless plastic construction along with a modularity
that allows very simple installation, future expansion
and significant energy savings. |
| Also,
in 2002, Delta's growth necessitated a plant move
from New Jersey to a newly constructed Production
Facility in Philippi, West Virginia. This Delta
owned facility gives the company substantial capacity
for planned future growth and plant expansion.
|
| Delta is committed
to providing the best value to cooling tower users
and will continue to invest in our products and
capability to remain the best value to our customers.
